In March 2006, Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board was certified by the Ontario College of Teachers as a Provider of Additional Qualifications Courses for Teachers. The courses are open to all teachers registered with the college who meet the registration requirements.

 

We are pleased to offer:

  • high quality Professional Learning Programs
  • based on recent effective instructional practice research
  • affordable costs.

 Course fees: $468 which includes a $20.00 administration fee.

Courses will run subject to sufficient enrolment. Note: full attendance is required by the Ontario College of Teachers in order to receive credit.

Prerequisite for Part 2 Courses - 200 days teaching experience

 

Prerequisite for Part 3 Courses - 400 days teaching experience (no experience required in the field of study).

 

This change applies to: Computers in the Classroom, Media, Dance, Drama, ESL, FSL, Guidance, Multiculturalism in Education, Music, Reading, Special Education and Visual Arts.

Courses not listed, such as Math and Librarianship, still require 200 days teaching experience in field of study.

AQ Transcript Requests

Please send your transcript request in writing to brandi_quin@kprdsb.ca.

Your requests should include your proper full name, OCT number and the course(s) you have completed with KPR.  Please also indicate where you would like your transcript sent.  Most are sent directly to QECO, but can also be sent by courier to your school or mailed to your home.

There is a fee of $10 that can be paid in cash or a cheque made payable to KPRDSB.  Transcripts will not be processed until after payment is made.

 

All transcripts will be processed on the first Monday of every month.  Please have your request and payment in before this time.

UPDATE:  AQ courses offered through KPR may now be acceptable to OSSTF for certification rating.  OSSTF members considering taking an AQ course through KPR for certification purposes are strongly advised to submit a Course Approval Application to the certification department of OSSTF prior to enrolling in the course.  The Course Approval Application is available at www.osstf.on.ca/Services/Certification/Application/Forms/Certification Form 3.  The Course Approval Application form is also available by contacting the OSSTF District 14 office.
