The ILP, situated in the Peterborough Centre for Individual Studies, offers approximately 40 Ministry of Education approved secondary school courses which lead to an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. The program is designed to accommodate mature students who work or have family obligations or can not attend school during the day or want to start a course at various times of the school year. All ILP courses are marked by certified teachers. The credits earned are the same as those earned at any secondary school in Ontario. Every ILP course meets the requirements of the Ministry of Education.

Enrollment:
To enroll in an ILC credit course, you must meet the following three conditions:

• be 16 years of age or older, and not attending secondary school,
• live in the Province of Ontario, and
• be a Canadian citizen OR a landed immigrant OR an Ontario resident holding a work visa, diplomatic visa, or ministerial permit OR a refugee claimant who can provide documentation.

What to Expect:
Earning secondary school credits by correspondence certainly has its advantages because you can:

• start and finish a course at any time of the year,
• work at your own pace (within the one year you have to complete the course),
• study when and where you want,
• receive in-person tutoring from your teacher every Monday evening from 6:00PM - 8:00PM during the school year at the Peterborough campus, and
• phone your teacher during the evening whenever you have a question or need help.
