Improving Student Achievement:
A Shared Commitment
We believe that education is a shared responsibility and that community partners have a role in the success of our students
We invite Board employees and members of the community to help our students succeed by joining our volunteer program, known as SEEDS - Students Enjoying Education are Destined to Succeed.
Our school district has a strong commitment to improving student achievement. SEEDS offers one strategy to help support student success.
This program began by inviting Education Centre employees to volunteer time equivalent to one-half day per month in supporting students and schools. SEEDS later expanded to include members of our community interested in dedicating a portion of their time and expertise to make a difference in the life of a child or youth.
The founding beliefs of the SEEDS Program are that:
-
student success is a shared commitment
-
volunteers in schools support student learning
-
students benefit from employees and community members sharing their wide variety of skills and talents.
