SCHOOLS ACROSS KPR HOLD ALL CANDIDATES’ MEETINGS
Several schools across the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board will play host to all candidates’ meetings in advance of the federal election.
The Northumberland Centre for Individual Studies (CIS) in Cobourg will hold an all candidates' meeting Tuesday, September 30, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Students at the CIS will have the opportunity to meet the candidates, ask questions, and better understand the platforms of each party.
On Wednesday, October 1, Jamaican Self-Help (JSH) and Adam Scott Collegiate Vocational Institute will be hosting an All Candidates’ Debate in the Adam Scott auditorium, Peterborough, starting at 10:10 a.m. All Adam Scott students in Grades 11-12 as well as senior students from several other local high schools will be attending the debate.
Clarke High School in Clarington will play host to an all candidates' meeting, Thursday, October 2, from 1:40-3:05 p.m. All the candidates will be discussing local issues and matters of particular interest to the students (post secondary options, the environment).
Even more elementary and secondary schools across KPR are participating in Student Vote, a national, non-partisan parallel election designed to encourage active, democratic citizenship.
